MJP Panaderia, Give Me Everything

MJP Panaderia sits unassumingly on Beverley Rd. between Coney Island and Stratford, just down the block from local favorites Ditmas Fitness and Madina. The shop sells the usual non-perishables, paper towels, and pet food–but look a little closer:

Holy what?! They also stock a range of fresh-baked cookies, cupcakes, cream empanadas, and more that nearly thwarted one local writer’s (not mentioning any names) important news-related trip  to Cortelyou this morning.

With most pastries in the $1-2 range, you can probably afford to try a little bit of everything (if you haven’t already). As for me, I made it to my destination today–but no promises for tomorrow.
