Give in Brooklyn Today! #BrooklynGives
We are joining Brooklyn Community Foundation in its call to ask you all to give in your neighborhood, in our borough, and help raise $1 million today for these 138 local nonprofit organizations working tirelessly to make Brooklyn a better place for all of us.
Check out #BrooklynGives campaign at www.BrooklynGives.org for a super, super easy way to discover a good cause and great local nonprofit organizations right in your neighborhood, and give it a few $$. It all stays right here, in Brooklyn. We have covered many of the organizations listed, and every year we discover someone new, doing amazing work and truly worthy of support.
It is interactive – with leaderboards for those who have most donors and those with the most money raised – with prizes and matches from Brooklyn Community Foundation, National Grid, Santander Bank, and Sugar in the Raw to make your donations go even further – so check back throughout the day, and spread the word!
If you decide to support one of the 20 nonprofits that are Finalists for Brooklyn Community Foundation’s Spark Prize your donation will be doubled through the $5,000 #BrooklynGives match.
What is Spark Prize? Brooklyn civic, business, and neighborhood leaders selected the finalists from a pool of 130 applicants in recognition of their social justice-oriented, values-driven service to Brooklyn’s communities. In January, the five winners of this year’s Spark Prize will be awarded grants of $100,000 each.
