Little Saigon Pearl, a little restaurant on 9 Bay 35th Street serving up “home-style” Vietnamese fare, has only been open only two months, and it’s already making a buzz.

“So far so good. People come back bringing friends and family and they keep coming,” says owner Theresa Tran, 42.

A first-time restaurant owner, Tran credits her early success to her mom, who ran the first Saigon Pearl on 42nd Street in Manhattan for many years, before retiring to Queens. Tran says her mom taught her everything she knows about the business – including her recipes.

The most popular item on the menu is the spring rolls, which are $7.50 for six rolls. Another favorite is the Kimtien rolls with shrimp, which cost $6.95 for four rolls. Also delicious is Tran’s pho bo, or beef noodle soup, which will run you $6.95.

Little Saigon Pearl is open six days a week and closed on Monday. The food joint replaces Kong Min Kim, a watch and jewelry repair shop.
