Get Involved In The Third Year Of Participatory Budgeting With Brad Lander
Participatory budgeting is back, and for the third year in a row, Council Member Brad Lander is asking how District 39 should spend one million dollars.
Does your school need repairs? Know how we can improve the safety of pedestrians? There are several ways to bring your ideas to the project. Neighborhood assemblies will be held in October, and the one in Kensington is at 6:30pm on Monday, October 7, at the PS 230, 1 Albemarle Road at McDonald Ave. If you’d like to attend, RSVP here.
In an effort to broaden community involvement, additional meetings will be scheduled that are specifically geared toward teens, seniors, and those whose primary language is not English.
If your idea is so hot that you’ve got to get it on the table now, Council Member Lander invites neighbors to email suggestions to lander@council.nyc.gov. You can also call the council member’s office at 718-499-1090.
Over the past couple of years, 15 projects in our district have been funded through participatory budgeting. A breakdown of how close those projects are to completion can be found here.
