Need a little help preparing your tax return this year? If you are a low- or middle-income taxpayer, there are two programs at the Central Library (10 Grand Army Plaza) that can help.

NYC Dept. of Consumer Affairs Office of Financial Empowerment Tax Assistance

What: Prepare your taxes online at the library with free help from a tax assistant.
Qualifications: You must earn less than $52,000, 

have a valid email address and basic computer skills, and bring all your relevant tax documents (here’s a list of what to bring) to the site.
Where: Room 216
When: Mondays 11am-6pm, Wednesdays 11am-8pm, Fridays 10am-5pm, and Sundays 1pm-4:30pm through April 14.

AARP Tax Preparation 
What: All AARP free tax preparation sites operate on a first come, first served basis. You don’t need to be a member of AARP.
Qualifications: Available to low and middle income taxpayers; see the list of documents you need to bring here.
Where: 3rd Floor Trustees Room
When: 
Mondays 11am-3pm through April 14.
