Get Coiffed For A Great Cause
Hair & Co BKLYN is partnering with the Brooklyn Center Against Domestic Violence in a program called Get A Cut, Give A Cut.
For each client who gets a haircut at either of Hair & Co’s two Brooklyn locations from Monday, July 17 to Saturday, August 12, the salon will give a complimentary haircut to a woman or child residing in one of the organization’s three Brooklyn shelters.
The staff at Hair & Co love giving back to the community and feel that a simple haircut can make a difference in boosting one’s confidence, a representative for the salon told BKLYNER. “Our goal is to give back strength, confidence and a smile to those who need it most,” she adds. The stylists also want to give the residents of Brooklyn’s Domestic Violence Shelters “an opportunity to see how many care.”
Hair & Co debuted at 487 Myrtle Avenue in Clinton Hill in November 2015. A “truly multicultural” salon with a collaborative approach to styling and customer service, the salon is owned by hairstylist Shannon King and his wife, Allyson King. The Hair & Co team is skilled in all hair textures and offers custom color, cuts, and styling.
