Get A Taste Of Fall With Three Neighborhood Cocktails
The air is crisp, leaves are on the ground, and the weekend is here, which means it’s the perfect time to try some of the neighborhood’s fall cocktail recipes. We’ve got three drinks (one for each day of the weekend), so be sure to check ’em out and let us know what you think.
1. Pumpkin Manhattan at Sidecar
560 5th Avenue, between 15th and 16th Street
This annual introduction to the Sidecar menu is made from pumpkin infused Old Overholt (Sidecar’s Bart DeCoursy tells us the pumpkin rye is made by steeping roasted pumpkins, cloves, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg in the Old Overholt for 10 days), housemade burnt orange vermouth, Fee Brothers Old Fashioned Bitters and garnished with roasted pumpkin seeds. 2. Apple & Spice at Thistle Hill Tavern
441 7th Avenue at 15th Street
Named one of the best fall cocktails in the city by CBS New York, the Apple & Spice at Thistle Hill has “a simple syrup mixture made from warm spices and sugar, Brooklyn Vodka, Lairds Apple Jack and fresh pressed apple cider. The ingredients are muddled together and served in a chilled martini glass with grated cinnamon and a fresh apple slice.” Sounds like the perfect ending to a weekend apple picking adventure. 3. Sage Fig Cocktail at 12th Street Bar and Grill
1123 8th Avenue at 12th Street
12th Street Bar and Grill is getting figgy with it this fall with their Sage Fig Cocktail, made from fresh figs (spiced in house), fresh sage, scotch whiskey, spiced fig syrup, apple cider and a touch of lemon juice. Photo via 12th Street Bar and Grill
