G&E 99 Cents Renovating 5th Avenue Store

We spotted paper over portions of G&E 99 Cents, located on 5th Avenue (between 14th and 15th Streets), so we popped in to see what was going on.

An employee behind the counter said that they’re renovating the space, and though she wasn’t sure exactly what owners had planned, they’re estimating work to be finished in about two months.

In the meantime, you can still get your fill of helium balloons and decorations, as all of the store’s merchandise has been crammed onto one side of the building (and the sidewalk).
