Garbage Truck Stuck In Sinkhole In Flatbush Parking Lot

A garbage truck got stuck in a sinkhole in a parking lot near Flatbush Avenue and East 32nd Street early this morning.

Police told Brooklyn News 12 the incident happened at around 3:30am. The truck was backing in to collect garbage and as it tried to leave, it got stuck in the sinkhole.

The police are limiting pedestrian traffic around the parking lot until they can ensure it is stable, but shops in the area are still open.

There’s no word on when the sinkhole will be fixed yet.
