The wake and funeral for Carey Gabay, the Clinton Hill resident and former lawyer/aide to Governor Andrew Cuomo, will be this Friday and Saturday, September 25-26 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church at 279 Lafayette Avenue, where he worshipped with his family.

“Carey Gabay, our beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away on September 15,” said the Gabay family in a statement. “A talented lawyer and public servant, Carey, 43, was taken away from us too soon after he was the innocent victim of senseless violence. He is no longer with us but his legacy will live on.”

Viewing hours for the public are from 2-6pm on Friday, September 25, with the wake to follow from 6-8pm

The funeral and burial are both private and by invitation only, but will take place on Saturday, September 26, so be prepared for possible delays in traffic in the area, as well.
