Fundraiser Launched To Help La Crepe Et La Vie Reopen
After
the city shuttered La Crepe et La Vie (1715 Foster Avenue) for operating with an expired permit at the end of January, numerous neighbors have asked what they can do to help the creperie’s owner, whose permit expired after he was unable to pay crippling fines from the Department of Health that the owner slammed as more about making the city money than keeping the public safe.This support from residents in our area led to La Crepe et La Vie’s owner, Kostas Kormopoulos, and neighbor William Cerf setting up an online fundraising campaign this weekend to help Kostas reopen – which entails paying more than $10,000 in fines.
Additionally, Kostas will be hosting fundraisers at 1715 Foster Avenue this Saturday night, February 28, and Sunday afternoon, March 1, when there will be food, music, entertainment and more. The fundraisers will start at 4pm both days.
Kostas also let us know that Tresor en Fleur, the boutique that is owned by Kostas’ wife, Sky, and also located at 1715 Foster Avenue, will extend its hours during this weekend’s festivities. Kostas noted that while La Crepe et La Vie is closed, Tresor en Fleur is open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday, from 11am-8pm.
