From the 66th Precinct: Some Kensington Felony Stats

66th Precinct Crime Stats

Thanks to the Commander, Deputy Inspector Michael Deddo, the 66th Precinct has released stats comparing felonies during the most recent 28-day period, December 31, 2012 to January 27, 2013, to those from the year before: December 31, 2011 to January 27, 2012.

These figures show crime is up 21% over last year, but that’s only in Sector G, the area from Beverley Rd to Ave F, and from 37th Street to Coney Island Avenue. No word, however, on what’s happening in Sector K, Kensington’s other half, which runs from Caton Ave to Beverley Rd and from 37th Street to Coney Island Ave. The entire precinct is divided into 13 sectors, lettered A-J.

“Unattended property,” a police spokesman said, primarily credit cards and phones, was the main reason grand larceny incidents doubled in January.
