Friday Crime Blotter: Coward Arrested in Canarsie, A Stabbing in Flatbush & More
BUSHWICK – Police are looking for the man who robbed a cab driver at gunpoint in Bushwick earlier this week.
On Sunday, March 11, the suspect entered a taxi in front of the Big M Deli at Broadway and Granite, near Thomas Boyland park, said police. The 47-year old driver transported his fare to Evergreen and Jefferson Avenues when the suspect pulled a gun on him and demanded his money, said police.
The thief made off with his victim’s wallet, containing about $100, fleeing on foot to parts unknown and leaving the cab driver uninjured. Security footage of the suspect can be seen below:
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS – A man is wanted for attempting to steal credit card numbers from the Santander Bank ATM inside a Brooklyn Heights CVS Pharmacy.
At 8:00 am on Sunday, March 11, the suspect entered the pharmacy and installed a credit card skimmer and a pinhole camera on the ATM inside 156 Henry Street, said police. A photo of the suspect can be seen below:
FLATBUSH – After a fistfight in Flatbush turned into a vicious stabbing, police are looking for the man who sent his victim to the hospital in critical condition.
On Friday, March 9, around 5:00 pm, the 25-year old male victim became involved in a fistfight with the suspect in the area near Church Avenue and Ocean Avenue, said police. The suspect proceeded to stab the victim five times in the back and once in the arm, said police.
The victim reached the hospital by private means, and was admitted in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable, said police. A photo of the suspect can be seen below:
CANARSIE – Police have arrested Canarsie resident Kent MacDougall for the assault of an elderly woman last Friday, said the NYPD.
On Friday, March 9, MacDougall approached a 74-year old woman at Rockaway Parkway and Farragut Road in Canarsie and punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground. She later received treatment for a sprained wrist, said police.

BRIGHTON BEACH – Police are looking for the man who stole a wallet from a woman in a Brighton Beach store earlier this month.
The incident took place at 713 Brighton Beach Avenue, around 11:00 am on Monday, March 5. A 70-year old woman noticed her wallet was missing and contacted police, who found surveillance footage of the suspect stealing the wallet. It contained about $1300, said police.
The unknown suspect fled on foot. Surveillance photos can be seen below:
