Friday Crime Blotter: A Stolen Car in Sheepshead Bay, A Shooting in Bed-Stuy & More
SHEEPSHEAD BAY – Police are looking for three suspects that robbed a man at gunpoint in Sheepshead Bay this week.
The incident took place near Brigham Street and Avenue U, when the suspects approached 51-year old man around 12:45 am on Wednesday, August 22, police said. One of the young men pulled a gun and demanded the victim’s property: his phone, wallet and keys.
The robbers left the victim unharmed, but stole his Toyota Camry, which was parked nearby. Surveillance video of the suspects can be seen below:
MIDWOOD – Another case of public lewdness on the subway, this time in Midwood.
According to police, just before noon on Tuesday, August 21, a man exposed himself in front of a 34-year old woman. The two were on a northbound Q train approaching the station at Avenue J.
At the Avenue J stop, the suspect fled in an unknown direction, but his photo can be seen below:
MANHATTAN BEACH – After two suspects broke into a car and stole credit cards earlier this month, police are looking for the men after they attempted to make fraudulent purchases.
Sometime around midday on Wednesday, August 15, the two broke into a car parked in the lot at 1000 Oriental Boulevard in Manhattan Beach, said police. They took several items, including a wallet with credit cards, which they used to rack up fraudulent purchases in excess of $1,000, said police.
The suspects were last seen in a gray Nissan. Surveillance photos of one of the individuals can be seen below:
BED-STUY – A shooting in Bed-Stuy at the beginning of August sent a man to the hospital—now, police want to track down his shooter.
The incident took place on Sunday, August 5, around 10:25 am, in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Tompkins Avenue, said police. Approaching his victim on the street, the suspect fired once, striking him in the stomach, then fled.
Responding EMS transported the vicitm to a nearby hospital, where he is in critical condition, police said. Surveillance video of the suspect can be seen below:
