Free Upcoming Trial Classes For Kids In Ditmas Park
Sure, school is starting soon–but sometimes little learners want more than what’s offered in standard art or music classes. Luckily for locals, some free trial classes are on their way to the neighborhood.
This Friday, September 6, City Stomp is holding a free Family Music class at 1225 Ditmas Avenue (corner of Argyle Road) at 11am. In the class, “Children sing, dance and play instruments in classes that integrate melodies, harmonies and rhythms designed to build a strong musical foundation and advance future learning.”
Then next week, Cortelyou Library regular and Alden Moves‘ namesake Alden LaPaglia brings dance to DF Studios (593 Coney Island Avenue between Lewis Place and Matthews Court).
Get Moving, which promises “unique dance fundamentals… punctuated by fascinating rhythms from jazz, modern, and theater dance” is offered in two sections:
- Monday, September 9: Kids ages 3-4 and their caregivers, 9-9:45am
- Wednesday, September 11: Kids ages 5-6, 3:45-4:45pm
Dancing Daisies is more ballet- and age-specific, being held for kids ages 6-7 from 5:15-6pm on Tuesday, September 10. “Disney becomes Chopin,” Alden says, “as the fairy tales and fundamentals in this ballet class transform little girls into little ballerinas.”
The classes cost nothing, so, hey–check one out, and see how your budding music lover likes it.
