Free Events For Children And Families At Greenwood Playground
Somehow, the summer is already wrapping up – but there’s still much happening this and next week at the Greenwood Playground (located at the corner of Fort Hamilton Parkway and East 5th Street).
Friends of the Greenwood Playground announced that today, August 19, from 2-4pm, there will be a rainbow loom vs. lanyards craft event, and you can join Dari and Shana as they battle it out to see which craft comes out on top. This free event is for children ages five and up. Materials will be provided, but if you have a rainbow loom and bands, please bring them with you.
Have no fear, if you can’t make today’s happening, there is plenty going on before school starts up again:
- Thursday, August 21, 10am: Mondrian-inspired art with Private Picassos for children ages three to five. Pre-registration is required, so please RSVP to info@privatepicassos.com with your child’s name and age, the name of the parent/caregiver, and a cell phone number and email address for the parent/caregiver. Do not show up without pre-registering, as there are only 10 seats available.
- Saturday, August 23, 4pm: The Black and Gold Marching Elite, featuring Black Fire Percussion and Diamond Dancers, will perform. All ages are welcome to attend.
- Tuesday, August 26, 4pm: Kiddie Science with Miss Carmen the Science Lady for children ages three and up.
- Wednesday, August 27, 11am: The Swedish Cottage Marionettes present “Little Red’s Hood” for all ages.
