It’s illegal to dump your broken TV or other electronics waste on the curb, so bring them over to Habana Outpost tomorrow (Saturday, April 18) for an e-recycling event hosted by the Lower East Side Ecology Center.

The event is at Fulton and South Portland and runs from 10am-4pm — extending before and after Habana’s Earth Day Expo (from 11am-2pm) — and welcomes the following “working or non-working” items:

. . .computers, monitors, printers, scanners, fax-machines, copiers, tablets/e-readers, cords and cables, TVs, VCRs, CD & DVD players, audio-visual equipment, gaming equipment, cell phones, and phones. We cannot accept any household appliances including air conditioners or microwaves.

According to the LES Ecology Center, the materials will be “recycled conscientiously while also ensuring data security.”

Spread the word! IF you have friends or family who can’t make it to the Fort Greene e-waste event, there are others scheduled around Brooklyn in the coming weeks in Cobble Hill (Sunday, April 19), Flatbush (Saturday, April 25), Park Slope (Sunday, April 26) , Carroll Gardens (Saturday, May 2), DUMBO (Saturday May 9), and Brooklyn Heights (Saturday, May 16).
