Free Cool-Off Summer Film Series Sunday Afternoons At St. Rose of Lima Church
Neighbor Maria Newsom-Fahey writes in about a free summer film series at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church (269 Parkville Ave. between E 8th St. and Ocean Parkway). Quoting the church bulletin, she says:
Beat the Summer heat in a Creative Way! Films on the theme of Winter
It would be prohibitive financially to visit the South or North Pole, or even to travel to Alaska, the undisputed coolest place in the US, even at this time of the year. How about moving your mind to those places to cool off a little bit? That trick might actually work as you enjoy watching a movie on the theme of winter, sip a cool lemonade and eat an ice cream in the air conditioned theatre of our parish center!

- Sunday, July 21, 4pm: March of the Penguins
- Sunday, July 28, 4pm: Planet Earth: Saving Species, Into the Wilderness
- Sunday, August 4, 4pm: Eight Below
This sounds like a great opportunity for families to get some entertainment and AC without spending more of their own energy or money on bills–like car pooling, but with more aquatic birds. Enjoy!
