Four young men between the ages of 16 and 22 were stabbed in a violent attack on Friday, September 27 that took place on 6th Avenue, between 10th and 12th Streets, according to a report by DNAinfo. The victims, who sustained wounds to the head, torso, hand, and back, are thankfully all expected to survive.

Witnesses at Bar Toto (6th Avenue and 11th Street) told DNAinfo that a group of men ran passed the bar at around 11:30pm, “knocking over a sidewalk sign and a chair.” Moments later, the assailants was “piling up” on one of the victims.

“It was like someone had dumped a bucket of blood on his head,” another witness said. “It was really gruesome. I didn’t think he would make it.”

In response to the attack, Public Advocate (and mayoral candidate) Bill de Blasio, who lives with his family on 11th Street, told us in a statement that, “it’s deeply troubling. I’d urge anyone with more information to come forward to the police.”

No arrests have been made, and police say the investigation is ongoing.

Although violent attacks such as these are relatively uncommon here in the Slope, a similar series of events played out in Bartel-Pritchard Square on August 23, when a 19-year-old was stabbed after a late night confrontation. An 18-year-old Williamsburg man was ultimately arrested for the Bartel-Pritchard attack.
