5-Year Old Boy Dies of Possible Asthma Attack in Fort Greene

FORT GREENE – A 5-year old child died after a possible asthma attack last night, Tuesday, February 6, police announced this morning.

Oshane Rose, Jr. was found unconscious and unresponsive at his apartment on Felix Street, between Fulton and DeKalb in Fort Greene, just before midnight, said police. The boy showed no visible signs of trauma.

Responding EMS transported the child to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, said police.

Rose Jr. was found on the bathroom floor by his aunt, who called 911, cops told the NY Daily News. The young child had a history of asthma and his death may have been the result of an asthma attack, they said.

According to the NYPD, an investigation into his death is ongoing and the medical examiner has yet to determine the cause of death.
