Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Weekend Events Recap: Get FAB, Get Moving & Get Entertained Through September 7
We weren’t ready for another full work week anyway, were you? Didn’t think so. Now, here’s how to make the most of your weekend.
Books, Crafts, Games & Music for Kids
When: Friday, September 5, 4pm
Where: Fowler Square
What: Kids can enjoy a mobile reading room from The Uni Project, crafts like origami and glass bead making, games including checkers and croquet, an a performance by the Brooklyn Music School. This is the FAB Alliance’s final children’s event of the summer, so enjoy it while you can!
How much: Free
Group Bike Ride to Greenpoint
When: Saturday, September 6, 10am-1pm
Where: Starting at the Carlton and Flushing Avenue CitiBike station
What: Ride with neighbors and a licensed bike instructor from Fort Greene to the McCarren Park Greenmarket! If you don’t have a ride of your own, you can borrow a CitiBike for free–but in order to join, you must bring and wear a helmet and be comfortable riding in the street. The event is at no cost to you (unless you plan to buy some yummy produce!), but you must sign up in advance.

Poetry and a Piano
When: Sunday, September 7
Where: JACK (505 1/2 Waverly Avenue, between Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue)
What: Part of the “JACK has a baby grand for the weekend!” event, this particular night’s entertainment will feature a poetry reading by Guggenheim fellow Eileen Myles as well as music by pianist Connie Crothers and bassist Ken Filiano.
How much: $10 in advance, $15 at the door
