This weekend could be one of our last warm ones, with sunny skies projected and temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s. Get out and enjoy it with some live music, an event for community foodies, and more.

Peter Evans Quintet Performance
When: Friday, September 26, 8pm (doors at 7:30)
Where: JACK (505 1/2 Waverly Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and Fulton Street)
What: This quintet, which features a pianist, bassist, drummer, trumpet (and piccolo trumpet) player, and live electronic component, has been performing together since 2009. Expect a range of notated tunes and improvisation at their performance, with the unique sonic richness of an electro-acoustic set.
How much: $10 here, $15 at the door

Greene Hill Food Co-op’s Fall Celebration
When: Saturday, September 27, 10am-4pm
Where: Greene Hill Food Co-op (18 Putnam Avenue between Grand Avenue and Downing Street)
What: This annual event is open to all neighbors, who are invited to come enjoy yoga, cooking and compost demos, a bouncy house, tastings, music by DJs Cosmo D and ddotto, and more in the co-op’s backyard. Non-members are also encouraged to shop during the celebration for organic, sustainably grown food–and those who decide to sign up for membership will be entered to win one of two $50 gift certificates from Olea.
How much: Free admission

“Just Sayin'” Exhibition
When: Sunday, September 28, 1-4pm
Where: Rockwell Place Community Garden (104 Rockwell Place between Lafayette Avenue and Fulton Street)
What: Neighbor Diana Leidel‘s installation, open from 1-4pm on weekends from Saturday, September 27-Sunday, October 5, utilizes words and phrases pulled from multiple kinds of media–all the way from words of encouragement to relatively benign offhand remarks to the flat out ridiculously nasty. Viewers can feel the impact of these words for themselves walking around the garden, on whose fence the chosen quotes will be mounted.
How much: Free
