BAMcafe Live: California King

Where: BAMcafe at the Peter Jay Sharp Building at 30 Lafayette Avenue
What: Indie rock trio performing “atmospheric, synth-heavy anthems that combine soaring choruses, tranced-out, danceable beats, and the ultra-distinctive, impassioned vocals of lead singer Mike Mills.”

MulchFest
When: Saturday-Sunday, January 10-11 from 10am-2pm
Where: Fort Greene Park at the Myrtle Avenue/Washington Park entrance
What: Bring your Christmas tree — with NO decorations — to the park to be chopped up into mulch for park maintenance. Bring a bag of your own to take home a pound of mulch for your garden, too!

Senior Saturdays: Educational Seminar

Brooklyn Navy Yard Tour
When: Saturday, January 10 from 2-4pm
Where: BLDG 92 at 63 Flushing Avenue
What: Guided bus tour of the 150-year shipbuilding facility including a Civil-War era dry dock, the 24-acre former Navy hospital campus, and the nation’s first multi-story LEED Gold-certified industrial building.
How much: $30, or $18 for the short tour

Tipsy’s Saturday Sippers: Owney’s Rum Cocktails and Cookies

Where: Tipsy at 584 Myrtle Avenue
What: The team behind Owney’s Rum (a Brooklyn local!) is visiting and mixing up some cocktails at Tipsy, and boozy bakery, Spirited, is bringing along their Light n Stormy cookies made from the rum. Cocktails & cookies for all!

BAMcafe Live: Rhythm Republik with special guest Jahstix
