DSK Movie(s) Monday
When: Monday, October 13, 3pm and 8pm
Where: Die Stammkneipe/ Der Schwarze Kölner (710 Fulton Street at Hanson Place)
What: Get in the Halloween spirit (get it?) with two films today at DSK–It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown for the kids at 3pm, and Ghostbusters at 8pm.

“Small Matters” Photo Exhibition
When: Tuesday, October 14, 9am-10pm
Where: South Oxford Art Space (138 South Oxford Street between Hanson Place and Atlantic Avenue)
What: See photographer Ilonka Van Der Putten’s stunning closeups of flora and other minutae. If you can’t make it on Tuesday, no sweat–photos are on display until December 19.

Chess Playing Workshop
When: Wednesday, October 15, 4pm
Where: Walt Whitman Library (93 Saint Edwards Street between Myrtle and Park Avenues)
What: Kids, teens, and adults are invited to this no-cost instructional event, which will teach you the very basics (or if you know those, perhaps some sweet new moves) of chess. All we can ever remember is the knight moves in an “L” shape.

Thursday Night Wine Tasting
When: Thursday, October 16, 5-8pm
Where: Tipsy (584 Myrtle Avenue at Classon Avenue)
What: Start the weekend early by dropping into Tipsy for this weekly event, during which neighbors get a chance to learn about and try the shop’s new favorites on the house.
