Peter Brook: The Tightrope Screening with Q&A
When: Monday, September 29, 7pm
Where: Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place between Fulton Street and Lafayette Avenue)
What: Theatre for a New Audience presents this candid documentary, which follows the creative process of legendary English theater director Peter Brook as he works with stage actors and musicians. Following the screening, Brook’s son Simon will discuss his father’s work and the film.

Damon Galgut and Kent Carroll in Conversation

What: Novelist Damon Galgut will discuss his newest work, Arctic Summer–which tells a fictionalized version of writer E.M. Forster‘s life story–with publisher Kent Carroll.

What: Brewers from Third Rail Beer, Finback Brewery, and Barrier Brewing Co will be on hand for this event, which will feature raffles, limited and exclusive beers, and more.

Myrtle Avenue Comedy
When: Thursday, October 2, 8pm (doors 7:30)
What: This weekly event hosted by Greg Johnson and Bob’s BurgersLarry Murphy features several standup comedy sets for a pittance. This week, look out for Gary Gulman, Aparna Nancherla, Adam Lowitt, Linas Phillips, and Rob Cantrell.
