“The People’s Poetry” Open Mic Night
When: Monday, November 3, 7pm
Where: Five Spot Soul Food (459 Myrtle Avenue at Washington Avenue)
What: Got a knack for poetry, song, or another type of performance? All are welcome to take the stage at tonight’s all ages event, which will raise funds for community service projects as well as the Black Autonomy Federation Saturday School For Youths.
How much: Suggested donation $5-10

“Cook with Me” Family Enrichment Program
When: Tuesday, November 4, 11am-12:30pm
Where: Ingersoll Community Center (177 Myrtle Avenue at Prince Street)
What: Families with kids two to four are encouraged to attend this community event, learn to cook a new dish using healthy seasonal ingredients, and sit down with neighbors.
How much: Free

BRIC Fellows’ Project Screening
When: Wednesday, November 5, 7pm
Where: BRIC House Stoop (647 Fulton Street at Rockwell Place)

“Anything Goes” Dance Party
When: Thursday, November 6, 10pm
Where: The Emerson (561 Myrtle Avenue between Classon Avenue and Emerson Place)
What: Deejay Buddyface presides over this first Thursdays jam, sure to get you rocking seamlessly into the weekend. Oh, and there’s booze and buns, too.
How much: Free admission
