So, that Viltex for-profit bin on Westminster and Foster–you know, the one that seemed to have been plopped down without any notice, and overflowed all over the sidewalk last week? Signs today indicate it’s not long for the Ditmas Park world–specifically, that it should be removed by June 14.

Is this a result of involved neighbors calling the number or using the link provided by helpful commenters? If so, way to get stuff done!

Still, we could use some more legit, convenient bins around Ditmas–and one easy way is to take advantage of the re-fashioNYC program. Buildings with 10 or more units can apply for bins and pick-up services, totally free.

Re-fashioNYC is a partnership between the city and Housing Works, which we already know some neighbors donate to, so the transition couldn’t be more seamless. So, who’s signing up?
