Camp Carnival
When: Saturday, March 5th, 2 to 6pm
Where: Urban Martial Arts, 965 Coney Island Avenue (between Newkirk and Ditmas Avenues)
What: Neighborhood carnival featuring: sand-art; costuming and styling for ballet, musical theater, and superheroes; face painting; nature arts and craft using material from our environment + games; build your own puppets and bring them to life on stage; karate, gymnastics & dance, and more.
How much: Free

Q Community Gardens First Meeting of the Year
When: Saturday, March 5th, 2pm
Where: behind the Church Avenue B/Q subway station on East 18th Street
What: The garden would love for new, interested folks in the community to join them in getting organized for 2016, with a focus on what we want to plant this year and how we’re going to make it happen. Please bring your planting knowledge and ideas!
How much: Free

PS 130 Flea Market & Book Sale
When: Sunday, March 6th, 10am to 2pm
Where: PS 130, 70 Ocean Parkway (on the west side of the Prospect Expressway, at Fort Hamilton Parkway)
What: Great Stuff and Good Deals! Toys, housewares, clothes and more! Everything is priced to sell! Left-over books will be donated to the Kensington Family Homeless Shelter on McDonald Avenue.
How much: Free

The Beauty Of Ballet- Family Event
When: Sunday, March 6th, at 2pm
Where: Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) at Brooklyn College
What: BCPA once again partners with The School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, to feature advanced students from the School. This educational lecture/demonstration illustrates the process by which talented youngsters develop into accomplished classical ballet dancers. Your children will watch a “class” where training exercise and steps are demonstrated, and also enjoy excerpts from famous ballets, including Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and more.    ***Recommended for ages four and up.
How much: Free, no tickets or reservations required.

Eat & Shop Your Heart Out Cortelyou: March Madness
When: Ongoing until Saturday, March 27th
Where: Cortelyou Road between Coney Island Avenue and East 17th Street
What: This month-long event celebrates the amazing businesses of Cortelyou, while offering discounts and savings to our loyal community. Each week has a different theme, with merchants offering specific discounts and specials.
This week through 3/6, PUB TOUR: 773 Lounge; Asya Indian Restaurant; Bar Chord; Bashi Channel; The Castello Plan; Highbury Pub; Lea; Purple Yam; and Sycamore.
How much: Discounts throughout the month.
