FLATBUSH/DITMAS PARK – Wednesday lunchtime, October 23, around 12:30 pm, police responded to a 911 call, and arrived to find a man in front of 116 East 19th Street with a stab wound on his torso. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County where he died.

E19th and Cortelyou Road

Neighbors identified the victim and told The Daily News he left his apartment on E. 19th St. near Cortelyou Road on Wednesday morning “after getting a string of text messages on his phone.”  He was an artist, originally from Haiti, who worked under the name of Candilo.

There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. His name has not been officially released pending proper family notification, and we respect that and will update when we can.
