The buildings in Park Slope predate the businesses that reside in them currently, and it’s interesting to see what the residents of Park Slope saw when they walked down the streets years ago. Back in 1952, it was Park Slope Jewelers, as shown in the above photo.

Today, it’s Brooklyn Master Barbershop “the most talked about barbershop in Brooklyn.” According to its website, the barbershop “is focused on providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction.”

When you walk in, you can expect to see barbers like Christafari T, a barber with 25 years of experience who “specializes in flat top, ceasers skin fades design and so much more.” Christafari T also has his own clothing line, PYG, which stands for “Protect Your Goods.”

Other barbers include JC The Barber, Jay, Chris, Dee, and Bignest, who has the most experience at 27 years. All of the barbers have been working for more than eight years, so you can be sure they know what they’re doing.

The shop opened in 2002 as The Slope Barbershop, pictured above, and has since been renamed. Owner Nestor Guzman said that before the barbershop moved in, there was a flower shop. This shop is Vineyard Baskets, a gift and souvenir shop, which some of you may remember!
