Flash Flood Warning In Effect Through Beginning Of Rush Hour
Careful out there if you have to drive, or sheesh, even walk. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the New York City area until 5:15pm, warning that excessive runoff from heavy rainfall may cause flooding of urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots — we’re looking at you, 4th Avenue.
They warn drivers to avoid areas where the water covers the roadway — the water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.

And be sure to check the MTA site and this Twitter account before you head home from work, in case there’s any flooding that may be affecting the subways.
