In perhaps the most adorable partnership of 2016, the New York City Parks Department teamed up with an observant five-year-old to fix a neighborhood hopscotch board.
Natalie, daughter of lifelong Bay Ridge resident and State Senator Marty Golden’s Communications Director John Quaglione, noticed that the hopscotch board was in need of some TLC over the summer. Walking over to the slide, she pointed out to her father that the numbers on the board were fading and needed to be fix.
John contacted the Parks Department, and they agreed to assist in the repainting of the numbers.
“What a great way for a child to spend a day off from school,” Quaglione said in a press release about the hopscotch board’s restoration, “getting involved in beautifying the park where you so many times swing, slide and play.”
Natalie was joined by her cousin Sophia and Parks Department staff on the day they painted the board.
