Firefighters Battle Blaze At Foster Avenue Home This Morning
Sixty firefighters battled a blaze at a Foster Avenue home this morning during commuting hours.The blaze broke out at 1904 Foster at East 19th Street around 7:15am on Wednesday, December 14, according to an eyewitness. Firefighters had the fire under control just before 8am, said an FDNY spokesperson. No injuries were reported.FDNY is investigating the exact location and cause of the fire, we will update the story as we learn more.
However, after the fire was contained, the glut of MTA busses, school busses, construction and delivery trucks, and cars jammed at the intersection caused a backup that dragged for more than one hour, said a neighbor.
