Daylight Savings Time’s start and end is usually the time when the FDNY advises we check — and, if needed, replace — our smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. But there’s more to fire safety than that.
This Saturday, November 7, kicks off a series of fire prevention and safety workshops in our area, all of them held during lunchtime hours from 12-2pm. The first one is scheduled at Emmanuel Baptist Church (36 St. James Place).
Saturday, November 14 will be the Fort Greene workshop at Ingersoll Community Center (177 Myrtle Avenue) and the Saturday, November 21 one in Crown Heights at Miller Evangelical Lutheran Church (1110 President Street).
