Fire On 18th Avenue This Morning Injures 13 Firefighters, One Civilian

A fire broke out late this morning at 4315 18th Avenue between McDonald Avenue and Seton Place, injuring 14 people. A spokesman for the FDNY says they received a call at 11:34am about a fire in the second floor public hallway of the three-floor mixed use building, and had it under control by 1:15pm.
The spokesman says one civilian was taken to Maimonides Hospital with minor injuries, and 12 firefighters with minor injuries were transported to Kings County Hospital. One firefighter with slightly more serious injuries was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, but is expected to make a full recovery. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
