Fire In 8th Street Building Injures One
A fire broke out this morning on the first floor of the four-story home at 334 8th Street, near 6th Avenue, and left one person injured, says the FDNY.
A spokesman for the FDNY tells us that a call came in at about 9:20am on Thursday, January 16, and that the blaze required 12 fire trucks and about 60 firefighters to get it under control, which took almost an hour.
The FDNY reports that the person who was treated for injuries was not transported to a hospital, but could not provide any more information on their condition.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, and is under investigation.
UPDATE: The Red Cross noted on Twitter that it responded to the scene to assist six residents.
