Have you been looking for a way to get more involved in your community? You’ll find a lot of interesting options at the 2014 Brooklyn Volunteer Fair, coming up on Thursday, May 29 from 6-9pm at the Park Slope Armory on 15th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues.

Dozens of organizations will be on hand, including the Center for Anti-Violence Education, CHiPS, the Prospect Park Zoo, Sean Casey Animal Rescue, Seeds in the Middle, SFX Youth Sports, and many more.

There will be opportunities for individuals, families, seniors, and students (and community service credit may be available to middle, high, and college students).

The event is sponsored by Assemblymembers Jim Brennan and Joan Millman, along with Borough President Eric Adams, State Senator Velmanette Montgomery, Councilmember Brad Lander, Community Boards 6, 7, 12, and 14, New York Methodist Hospital, the Prospect Park Alliance, the Park Slope Civic Council, and ThinkBrooklyn. Refreshments provided by Whole Foods/Kind Bars.

The event is free and open to the public.
