As Turkey Day draws near, it’s time to start thinking about holiday shopping, and if you’re looking to keep it local, don’t miss this weekend’s Brooklyn Holiday Bazaar.

Launched in 2013 by Brooklyn Makers founder (and Windsor Terrace mom), Teresa Lagerman, the bazaar brings together artisans, chefs, and mixologists from around the borough, for a weekend of shopping, tasty treats, activities, and more.

“The event this weekend really has something for everyone,” Teresa explained via email on Monday. “We have an incredible lineup of super talented vendors, including Happy Heart Kid, Jumping Birds, Goose Grease, and Brooklyn Owl.”

Don’t think it’s all about the shopping, though. On Saturday, kids and their grownups can make pom pom and tassel ornaments with Loome, and the NY Kids Club of Park Slope will have craft activities on Sunday.

Palo Santo, Ovenly, Brooklyn Commune, Descendant Cider, Greenhook Ginsmiths and Widow Jane will also be on hand with delicious food and drinks to help sustain your market momentum.

Best of all, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you’re showing a little love to our community artisans.

“We’re so happy to kick off this year’s event on Small Business Saturday,” Teresa said. “It’s the perfect reminder that we should support our local small businesses, and that who we buy our gifts from makes a big difference.”

Brooklyn Holiday Bazaar (501 Union Street, between Bond and Nevins Streets) runs Saturday, November 28 – Sunday, November 29, 11am to 6pm. Admission is free. For more information, visit the Brooklyn Holiday Bazaar website.
