Police Release Sketch Of Suspect In Attempted Rape On Park Place

Police have released a sketch of a suspect who they say attempted to rape a 31-year-old woman on Tuesday, July 12 at approximately 12:50am. The incident took place in front of 210 Park Place, between Carlton and Vanderbilt Avenues.

According to cops, the victim was walking down Park Place when a male approached her from behind, pushed her to the ground, and proceeded to remove her underwear.

The victim struggled with the suspect, managed to free herself, and then ran for help. The unknown male fled the scene.

The victim sustained abrasions to her face and knee and was brought to Woodhull Hospital. She was treated and then subsequently released.

Police describe the suspect as male, Hispanic, in his mid-20s, and approximately 5’7″ tall. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt.

Police say they are investigating the possibility of single ‘suspect connection’ in four attempted rape incidents which have taken place in the Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, and Prospect Heights neighborhoods between May 22 and July 12. The images above are for suspects involved in three incidents on May 22, June 26, and July 2.

We encourage you to provide any information you may have on these cases to Crime Stoppers. A man responsible for at lease five attacks on elderly women was arrested in late April because of a tip by a witness to Crime Stoppers.
