The Navy Yard’s revitalization continues apace, and now you have a chance to win a year of free rides on the Citywide Ferry, which will be based out of the Navy Yard alongside the transformative Dock 72 project.

The Citywide Ferry is expected to reach full speed by 2018, and the fare is expected to be the same $2.75 that the MTA charges. Dock 72 is a massive 675,000 square foot building being developed by the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, Boston Properties, and Rudin Development that’s expected to bring $380 million of private investment and over 4,000 jobs paying a living wage.

“This project is going to help bring ideas, innovators and start-ups to the yard, where they can scale up their businesses, hire more New Yorkers and manufacture their products right here in Brooklyn,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The ferry’s routes will include South Brooklyn.

There is some concern over the potential impact on air quality, but Brooklyn is hardly Lake Tahoe, so click here to try for free tix!
