FDNY Responds To Another Fire In Prospect Park Monday

A second brush fire broke out in Prospect Park Monday evening at approximately 6:20pm, the FDNY reports.

Twelve engines and 65 firefighters arrived at the scene near Prospect Park Lake at Well House and West Drives where a tree was on fire, the FDNY states. The fire was under control by approximately 7:45pm.

This is the second fire in the park in two days, with the FDNY responding to a small brush fire at Prospect Park West and 9th Street at about 3:19pm Sunday afternoon, BKLYNER reported yesterday. Sunday’s fire was under control just after 6pm.

The above photo posted on Twitter shows smoke rising in the park during Sunday’s incident.

No injuries resulted in either incident and the cause of both fires is under investigation.
