FDNY Respond To Fire At Vacant Crown Heights Building Wednesday Afternoon

CROWN HEIGHTS – The FDNY received a call just before 1pm Wednesday afternoon regarding a fire at a vacant building located on Brooklyn Avenue between Pacific and Dean Streets.

The fire swept through the five-story building, from the second floor up to the cockloft, with 106 fire and EMS personnel responding, a FDNY representative says.

The fire was under control by 2:36pm. One civilian was treated for minor injuries.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the FDNY, Pix 11 reports that investigators are treating the incident as suspicious since the building is vacant.
