FDNY Celebrates 150 Years With Free Firehouse Tours This Saturday, May 2
This weekend, introduce your kids to some local heroes.
In honor of the 150th anniversary of the New York Fire Department [FDNY], firehouses across the city will open their doors to local families, offering them a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the daily lives and dangerous job of firefighters.
The free tours, which are available to wannabe firefighters of all ages, will take place on Saturday, May 2, in two time slots: 11am–1pm and 1pm–3pm.
Kids and adults alike will learn about fire safety, view demonstrations, explore FDNY careers, and more.

Here’s where and when to visit in our area:
Engine 240 (1-3pm): 1307 Prospect Avenue, by Greenwood Avenue.
Engine 281/Ladder 147 (11am-1pm): 1210 Cortelyou Road, between Argyle and Westminster Roads.
Engine 282/Ladder 148 (11am-1pm): 4210 12th Avenue, between 42nd and 43rd Streets.Engine 250 (11am-1pm): 126 Foster Avenue, between McDonald Avenue and E. 3rd Street.
