FBI Seeks 7 Second Bandit For Role In New Utrecht Bank Job
I wonder if they’ll ask him, “what’s in your wallet?”
The FBI is seeking to question a convicted bank robber for his possible role in last Thursday’s heist at a Bensonhurst branch of Capital One Bank (7120 New Utrecht Avenue).
They believe Jack Mannino aka “the seven second bandit”, who was released from federal prison just last July, may be back in business, according to CBS.
Manino had served over 10 years for a 1999 robbing spree in which he hit banks throughout Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island over the course of five months.
“It looks like he’s back at it,” FBI spokesman Peter Donald told 1010 WINS.
During last Thursday’s robbery, two men entered the bank and brandished a weapon, taking an undisclosed amount of cash in the process, the FBI told reporters.
If it was Mannino that struck, the seasoned criminal is apparently living up to his name – almost. An FBI spokesman said the job took just under two minutes.
The bandit was last seen wearing black wind pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and a dark leather jacket.
Authorities describe the second suspect as a balding white man with glasses in his 40s, standing about 5-feet-6-inches and 5-feet-7-inches, and weighing 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a green or beige jacket.
The feds say that there is a significant reward for information that helps to bring the two robbers to justice.
The FBI is asking anyone with knowledge about the case to contact them at 212-384-1000.
