Fatal Stabbing In Midwood, Near Avenue N
A man was found stabbed to death in a Midwood apartment last night. NBC News is reporting that while the cause of the stabbing is still unknown, a woman was arrested on the scene last night.
The victim was identified as John Gillespie, 58. Authorities have indicated that the stabbing took place just after 10 p.m. at 1890 Ocean Avenue off Avenue N. NBC News described what happened after responders made it to the scene:
Gillespie was taken to a nearby hospital where officials said he was pronounced dead on arrival.
No word yet on what led to Gillespie’s death, but a 38-year-old woman was taken into custody by police at the scene. Her relationship to Gillespie remains unclear.
The NYPD investigation is ongoing.
