One of the best things about living in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill is the community vibe, with residents knowing and living alongside their small business owners, and having favorite spots for everything from coffee to playdates and ice cream to burgers.

Now, it’ll be easier than ever to share some of that insight with visiting friends and family, as the Fulton Area Business (FAB) Alliance has released six new brochures that highlight the services available along the commercial strip.

The six brochures can be downloaded or found in various businesses in the area along Fulton, Lafayette Avenue, Greene Avenue, and Putnam Avenue:

“We want people to shop local so highlighting our local businesses is very important,” explained FAB Alliance Executive Director Phillip Kellogg. “Fulton Street is so walkable and just looking at the map shows people how they can get to so many things.”

The brochure project has been in the works for eight to nine months, with the first one, “Eat and Drink,” arriving in December and the “Professional Services” guide coming around tax time this past February/March.

“We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from businesses, which have been posting on social media about them,” said Kellogg, who noted that the brochures would be constantly updated and would remain in separate categories so that “people can see how many different types of services are offered on Fulton Street.”

The brochures were created with financial support from the city Department of Small Business Services, as well as with marketing funds from FAB’s budget.
