What The F: Many Trains Are Screwy This Weekend

After the massive power outage on the F train this week — that was actually pretty scary — here’s a heads-up about the eight trains that will be running on planned a wonky schedule this weekend in Brooklyn.

And hopefully, no more unplanned, chaotic power outages will bust up this already modified schedule.

Here’s the headline thought: the A, C, D, F, G, J, N, and R trains won’t be running normally this weekend, from Friday night, June 9, through Monday morning, June 12. Check out the MTA’s map for more info.

A/C train

  • From 11:45pm Friday, June 9 to 5am Sunday, June 11, A trains are rerouted via the F line in both directions between W 4 St-Wash Sq and Jay St-MetroTech.

D train

  • At all times until Fall 2017, D trains skip Prospect Av in both directions.
  • From 5:45am to 8pm Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11: D trains are suspended in both directions between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and Bay Pkwy. Travel alternatives: Take F or Q trains, B6, B64, and free shuttle buses. For direct service between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and Downtown Brooklyn/Manhattan, take the F or Q. For service to/from Bay Pkwy and 25 Av, take free shuttle buses. For service to/from Bay 50 St, use the B64 bus to/from Coney Island-Stillwell Av, or, take the B64 to the B6 and connect with the D at Bay Pkwy.
  • From 11:45pm Friday, June 9 to 6:30am on Sunday, June 11, and from 11:45pm Sunday, June 11 to 5am Monday, June 12, Bronx-bound D trains run express from 36 St to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

F train

  • At all times until early 2018, Manhattan-bound F trains skip Avenue U, Avenue P, Avenue N, Bay Pkwy and Avenue I.
    • For service to these stations, take a Manhattan-bound F train to Kings Hwy or 18 Av and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound F.
    • For service from these stations, take a Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound F train to Kings Hwy or Avenue X and transfer to a Manhattan-bound F.
  • From 11:45 p.m. Friday, June 9 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 12, Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound F trains skip 23 St and 14 St in Manhattan.

G train

  • From 11:45pm on Friday, June 9 to 5am Monday, June 12, G trains are suspended in both directions between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Court Sq. Travel alternatives: Free shuttle buses make all stops between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Court Sq. Transfer between trains and free shuttle buses at Bedford-Nostrand Avs.

N train

  • At all times until Fall 2017, N trains skip 53 St in both directions. Travel alternatives: Take the B37 or B63 to the nearby 45 St or 59 St stations for N/R service. N trains stop at 45 St during late night hours only (12:01am to 6:30am every day)
  • At all times until Fall 2017, N trains will skip Prospect Av in both directions. For service to/from this station use the nearby 4 Av-9 St FGR or 25 St R stations via the B37 and B63 local buses. N trains stop at 4 Av-9 St and 25 St during the late night hours only (12:01am to 6:30am everyday)
  • From 5:45am to 8pm Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11, N trains are suspended in both directions between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and 86 St. Take F/Q trains and free shuttle buses. For direct service between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and Downtown Brooklyn/Manhattan, take the F or Q. For service between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and 86 St, take free shuttle buses.
  • From 11:45pm Friday, June 9 to 6:30am Sunday, June 11, and from 11:45pm Sunday, June 11 to 5am Monday, June 12, Manhattan-bound N trains run express from 59 St to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

R train:

  • At all times until Fall 2017, R trains skip 53 St and Bay Ridge Av in both directions. Travel alternatives: Take the B9, B37 or B63 to nearby stations. N trains stop at 45 St during late night hours only.
  • At all times Fall 2017, R trains will skip Prospect Av in both directions. For service to/from this station use the nearby 4 Av-9 St FGR or 25 St R stations via the B37 and B63 local buses.
  • From 6:30am to 12 midnight, Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11, R service operates to/from the Jamaica-179 St F line station.
  • From 6:30am to 12 midnight, Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11, Manhattan-bound R trains run express from 71 Av to Queens Plaza.
  • From 11:45pm Friday, June 9 to 5am Monday, June 12 Manhattan-bound R trains run express from 59 St to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

J train

  • From 3:45am to 8pm Saturday, June 10, Broad St-bound J trains skip Flushing Av, Lorimer St, and Hewes St.
      • For service to these stations, take the J or M to Marcy Av (with Unlimited Ride MetroCard) or Delancey-Essex Sts and transfer to a Crescent St-bound J or Broadway Junction-bound M.
      • For service from these stations, take a Crescent St-bound J or Broadway Junction-bound M to Myrtle Av and transfer to a Manhattan-bound J or M.
