Parenting in New York City is a roller coaster, isn’t it? One minute we’re talking blizzards, snowmen, and soups, and the next it’s full steam ahead to summer camp.
Ready or not, the time has come to start planning summer activities for the kids, and if you’re still feeling lost in a sea of day, overnight, and specialty options, consider attending an upcoming camp fair.
It’s no secret – life is busy. Instead of exchanging emails and phone calls with a gazillion different camps that you’ve found online, parents can meet with representatives from some of the City’s top summer camps to get information all at once.
Easy as pie!
First up are the New York Family Camp Fairs, taking place right here in Brooklyn this weekend. Dozens of day and overnight camps will be on hand in Williamsburg (Williamsburg Northside School – 299 North 7th Street) on Saturday, January 30, and then in Cobble Hill (Brooklyn Heights Montessori School – 9 Bergen Street) on Sunday, January 31. Both fairs run from 12-3pm. Admission is free. For a complete list of participating camps, plus fair registration, visit the New York Family website.
Have a kiddo with special needs? Don’t miss the INCLUDEnyc Summer Fun & More Fair, scheduled for Saturday, February 6, from 11am-3pm at Manhattan’s Hotel Pennsylvania (402 7th Avenue, between 32nd and 33rd Streets). In addition to camps that specialize in children with disabilities, the fair features inclusive after school, sports, travel, and arts programs from New York hotspots like the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, the Museum of Natural History, and the Intrepid. The event is free and fully accessible.
