Youth Theater at Celebrate Brooklyn
When: Saturday June 11, 4pm
Where: Prospect Park Bandshell, entrance at 9th st and Prospect Park West
What: An afternoon family event with music and theater, honoring seminal children’s author Ezra Jack Keats.
How Much: FREE

Teen Author Talk By The Ayaz Sisters
When: Saturday June 11, 2:30pm – 4pm
Where: Cortelyou Public Library, 1305 Cortelyou Road
What: Book talk event, featuring three young writers (and published authors) from our neighborhood, the Ayaz Sisters. Come hear them discuss how and why they became writers, writing tips, and read from their books. For more information, visit their website.

Watch the Soccer (football) game at Highbury Pub
When: Saturday, June 11 at 7pm
Where: Highbury Pub, 1002 Cortelyou Road
What: Watch the U.S. soccer team play Paraguay this Saturday night in the Copa America group stage.
How Much: Come for the game, stay for the drinks.

Neighborhood Yard Sale
When: Sunday June 12 from 11am-4pm
Where: Various houses on Cortelyou Road, Newkirk Ave, Marlborough Road, and Coney Island Ave (good opportunity to stroll the neighborhood on a beautiful Sunday)
What: The Ditmas Park West Neighborhood Association’s Annual Lawn Sale, originally scheduled for last Sunday (June 5) and postponed because of inclement weather, will take place this coming Sunday June 12. Come for the smorgasbord of stuff: clothing, housewares, furniture, antiques, bikes, toys, and more. Contact bluelaws@aol.com for more info.
How Much: FREE to attend, $10 to be a vendor.

Smorgasburg Prospect Park
When: Sunday June 12, and every Sunday until Oct. 23, 11am-6pm
Where: Breeze Hill in Prospect Park. Enter at Lincoln Road and walk directly west
What: 100 food vendors offering a range of cuisines coming to Prospect Park, in partnership with the Prospect Park Alliance.
How Much: Food priced by individual vendors.

Jazz Jam at Bar Chord
When: Sunday June 12, and every Sunday at 9pm
Where: Bar Chord, 1008 Cortelyou Road
What: Show off what you’ve got or come to listen to the show. 21+
How Much: Free, but show the bar some love.
