District 22 First Annual Art Show
When: Monday, May 23rd, from 2:40 to 5pm
Where: PS/IS 207, located at 4011 Fillmore Avenue in Marine Park
What: The show features artwork from the talented students in elementary and middle schools across District 22.
How Much: FREE

Free Yoga Classes All Month
When: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays (5 to 5:45pm)
Where: Family of Light Holistic Center, 717 Coney Island Avenue (near Cortelyou Road)
What:  We are offering totally free 45-minute yoga classes until June 1st. They are very beginner-friendly and meant to give new yogis a taste of what we do at the studio.
How Much: FREE

Grand Opening & $1 Ice Cream Cones for Kids at Buffalo’s Famous
When: Grand opening on Monday (5/23); $1 cones on Friday (5/27) and Saturday (5/28)
Where: Buffalo’s Famous, 1111 Church Avenue (and Stratford Road)
What:  Perry’s ice cream cones and other Buffalo specialties.

PS 217 Garden Concert — Duets with Lucy Kalantari and Lloyd Miller
When: Wednesday (5/25), at 6pm
Where: PS 217, 1100 Newkirk Avenue (and Westminster Road)
What: Lucy Kalantari and Lloyd Miller come together to liven up the garden with folk, jazz and rock songs for the whole family.

Award-winning children’s artist, Lucy Kalantari, brings her delightful jazz-age inspired ukulele ditties for families and will be performing songs from her upcoming album, Big Things, set for release in early summer 2016.

Lloyd H. Miller is the founder and frontman of the Deedle Deedle Dees, a critically-acclaimed educational rock band based in New York City. The Deedle Deedle Dees are releasing a new album in the summer of 2016 featuring songs inspired by true stories from the history of science, discovery, and magic.

Basketball Clinic At Dome Playground
When: Thursday (5/26), from 3 to 5pm
Where: Dome Playground, 38th Street and Dahill Road
What: Free basketball clinics for boys and girls, and men and women, separately. The clinic will be taught by members of the St. John’s University and Brooklyn College basketball teams.
How Much: FREE

PS 217 Garden Concert — The Afro Latin Jazz Band
When: Thursday (5/26), at 6pm
Where: PS 217, 1100 Newkirk Avenue (and Westminster Road)
What: Enjoy this exciting performance by the professional musicians of the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance. This not-for-profit organization, founded by Grammy Award-winning musician Arturo O’Farrill, is dedicated to the performance, education, and preservation of Afro Latin music. Children will be inspired by a special appearance by the PS 217 Afro Latin Jazz student orchestra.
How Much: FREE
